Callan Harland Committs to Regina Cougars
The Central Plains Capitals of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that their Captain Callan Harland has committed to play for the Regina Cougars of the CIS Canada West Conference commencing the 2012-13 season.
Harland who attends Portage Collegiate Institute and is from Portage la Prairie is the all-time leader in games played for the Capitals at 141 and is known for her strong 2-way play. Harland has 39 goals and 56 assists in her "AAA" career with the Capitals but has usually been assigned the task of shutting down the oppositions best players.
Harland's strong end to end play earned her a spot on Hockey Manitoba's U18 Program of Excellence Team that earned a Bronze Medal at the 2011 National Championship.
Over her career with the Capitals Harland has earned the Sportsmanship and Leadership Award 3 years running in 2010-11-12 while picking up the Coaches Award in 2012.

Jessie Hilton Committs to University of Manitoba
The Winnipeg Ice of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Jessie Hilton has committed to play for the University of Manitoba Bisons of the CIS Canada West Conference for the 2012-13 season. Hilton who attends Oak Park Collegiate and is from Winnipeg had 16 points (11 goals - 5 assists) for the Ice this season.
Hilton is a smooth skating defense who is a physical presence on the point with a good shot who can move the puck very well plus has the capability to rush the puck and join the offense off the rush. Bison Head Coach Jon Rempel described Hilton, “Jessie is a big, strong defender who can skate and move the puck smartly and efficiently. She has the ability to have an immediate impact at the CIS level and the coaching staff looks forward to working with her. We are pleased to have a player like Jessie in our program as she gives us depth on the blueline and a bigger, more physical presence.”
A product APHA Rangers Hilton was part of Winnipeg Gold that earned a Silver Medal at the 2010 Manitoba PowerSmart Winter Games as well as making it to the Top 40 in Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence in 2011.

FORMER WESTMAN WILDCAT COMMITS TO OSWEGA STATE UNIVERSITY LAKERS
Bailee Goodon
The Westman Wildcats of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Bailee Goodon from Boissevain Manitoba who played 2 years for the Cats and played the current season as a forward with Pursuit of Excellence has committed to play for Oswego State University Lakers NCAA Division 3 located in Owego, New York for the start of the 2012 – 2013 hockey season.
Goodon currently attends George Elliott Secondary School in Kelowna BC and attends Pursuit of Excellence hockey academy. Goodon will be a graduate in June 2012 and then off to University at Oswego for 4 years of study. Bailee is also a 2 time team member for MASRC Team Manitoba and will be attending the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in May 2012. The MFMHL would like to congratulate Bailee on her hockey accomplishments to date and wish her all the best in her academic and hockey endeavors in the future.
JOCELYN PLOUFFE
COMMITS TO MACEWAN UNIVERSITY GRIFFINS
The Winnipeg Avros of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Defense Jocelyn Plouffe has committed to play for the MacEwan University Griffins for the 2012-13 season. MacEwan University is located in Edmonton and the Griffins play out of the Alberta College Athletic Conference (ACAC).
Plouffe who is from Winnipeg and attends Vincent Massey Collegiate played her Minor Hockey for the Winnipeg Twins organization prior to making the "AAA" Avros this season. Plouffe is a solid defender who thinks defense first but also has the ability to contribute offensively with solid first passes out of her own end and smart shots from the point. Plouffe was a an All-star with the Twins and in 2011 made Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Final 40 Summer Camp.

TORI SPENCER
COMMITS TO MACEWAN UNIVERSITY GRIFFINS
The Winnipeg Avros of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Defense Tori Spencer has committed to play for the MacEwan University Griffins starting in 2012-13. MacEwan University is located in Edmonton and their hockey program competes in the ACAC (Alberta College Athletic Conference).
Spencer who is from Winnipeg and attends Sturgeon Heights Collegiate is a stay at home defender who is solid in her own end and has the ability to play against the oppositions top players from moving the puck up ice with solid first passes. To date this season Spencer has played in 39 games for the Avros contributing 8 assists.
Spencer played her minor hockey in the Titans Female Program prior to joining the "AAA" Avros this season where she was a major part of 3 Winnipeg City Championships while being selected to 3 All-star teams over a 5 year period. As well Spencer was part of the Titans Midget Team that were Provincial finalists in 2010-11.

JESSICA KAMINSKY
COMMITS TO UNION COLLEGE IN NEW YORK
The Pembina Valley Hawks of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Forward Jessica Kaminsky has committed to play for the Union College Dutchmen commencing with 2012-13 season. Union College is located in Schenectady, NY and their hockey program plays out of the ECAC (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference) within the NCAA.
Kaminsky who is from La Salle and attends Fort Richmond Collegiate currently leads the Hawks in scoring with 51 goals and 51 assists for 102 points in 48 games and was the MFMHL's regular season scoring champ. Kaminsky is a dynamic offensive player and over the past 2 seasons with the Hawks has recorded 213 points including 105 goals over 112 games and was a huge part of the Hawks success in winning both the 2011 Provincial and MFMHL Midget Female Championships.
In 2011 Kaminsky also made Hockey Manitoba's Program of Excellence Final 25 and has been one of the top players in the MFMHL and "AAA" Female Hockey in Manitoba over the past 2 seasons.

Vanessa Klimpke
Commits to NAIT OOKS in Alberta
The Winnipeg Avros of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Forward Vanessa Klimpke has committed to attend NAIT ( Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) located in Edmonton and play for the Ooks hockey team of the Alberta College Athletic Conference for the 2012-13 season.
Klimpke an Assistant Captain with the Avros hails from Winnipeg and attends Westwood Collegiate is second in Avros’ scoring with 30 goals and 16 assists for 46 points in 33 games played. Klimpke is a power forward with very good offence skills and has made the Top 40 in Hockey Manitoba’s Program of Excellence twice. Prior to joining the “AAA” Avros Klimpke played Minor Hockey within the Titans Female Hockey Program where she was integral part of 5 Winnipeg City Championships while receiving All-star Awards 3 years in a row.

Cassandra Jorgenson
Commits To The University of Saskatchewan Huskies
The Winnipeg Avros of the MFMHL are pleased to announce that Forward Cassandra Jorgenson has committed to play for the University of Saskatchewan located in Saskatoon for the 2012-13 season. The Huskies are currently ranked 8th in the country and play in the CIS Canada West Hockey Conference. Jorgenson is an outstanding offensive player with a great finishing ability who should add to the Huskies ability to put the puck in the net.
Jorgenson is one of the top offensive players in the MFMHL and finished the MFMHL regular season with 22 goals and 17 assists in 18 games played which was good for third in league scoring. For the complete season including exhibition and tournament play Jorgenson leads the Avros in scoring with 37 goals- 25assists for 62 points in 38 games.
Jorgenson who hails from Winnipeg and attends Garden City Collegiate played her Minor Hockey for Hockey Winnipeg`s Titan Female Program before joining the “AAA” Avros Program this season. During Jorgenson’s time with the Titans’ Program they won 4 straight WMHA City Championships and she was Bantam and Midget Team Captain while earning Bantam Rookie of the year and Bantam and Midget MVP awards. Jorgenson was also the leading scorer for Winnipeg Red at the 2010 Manitoba Winter Games that earned a Silver Medal.
